About ODL's Records Management Division
The Records Management Division provides state agencies with cost-effective
storage of non-current, infrequently used state records in hard copy
and microfilm formats. Impermanent records are stored in the State Records
Center and agencies are provided controlled access to them.
The Records Management Division ensures that state records are maintained
in compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations. This division's
mission includes:
- appraising records to identify those that possess sufficient evidentiary
or informational value to warrant permanent preservation;
- assuming physical custody and control of noncurrent records scheduled
for ultimate destruction;
- accessioning and processing records transferred to the division;
- operating an imaging program;
- monitoring certified micrographics laboratories; and,
- providing reference service to state government and the public.
Agencies are encouraged to contact Jan Davis with any questions regarding records management service
or procedures at the State Records Center.
The State Records Center is located at 426 East Hill Street in Oklahoma
City. Service hours there are Monday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (Closed
Noon–1pm) and Wednesday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. The State
Records Center is closed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
