Library Director
Brownwood Public Library, Brownwood, Texas
Position Description: Due to an impending retirement, the Brownwood Public Library Association seeks an innovative, dynamic, customer and community focused, and experienced full -time library director. Under the leadership of the forward-thinking Board of Trustees, the director will work with the talented staff and city officials to continue our tradition of excellent service to the citizens of Brownwood and Brown County.
Requirements for the position include an MLS or related degree from an ALA accredited institution, management experience, and at least five years of experience in the profession. Work with a non-profit organization, service or work experience in a rural community, and/or experience with fund raising and grant writing is valued but not required for the applicant. Along with a cover letter, applicants should submit a resume which lists three references.
Brownwood, Texas, is a small, rural community of about 20,000 citizens located in Brown County, a county of about 40,000 people, which is near the geographic center of Texas and the Texas Hill Country.
Annual Salary: $45,000 - $50,000, based on experience
Required Education: MLS or related degree from an ALA accredited institution
Required/Desired Experience: management experience preferred and at least five years of experience in the profession.

Library Technical Services Manager/Cataloger
University of Texas of the Permian Basin, Odessa, Texas

Purpose—To provide specialized professional original and copy cataloging skill support to the technical services department in the UTPB J. Conrad Dunagan Library. This is a professional librarian position.
Required Qualifications—ALA accredited MLS/MLIS degree. Recent experience using cataloging functions in an integrated library system (ILS) and an understanding of cataloging parameters, bibliographic and item records, and databases. Understanding of RDA and open to conversion from current AACR2 standards. Knowledge of reindexing the catalog.

Position Summary—Responsible for managing financial operations of the Library System including revenue, budget and capital improvement project funds. Also responsible for managing professional library staff in the planning, implementation and evaluation of branch libraries, libraries’ technology planning and services, as well as facilities and grounds for the Department.
Salary—$68,507 to $83,916 Status—Full-time
Minimum Education & Work Experience—Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited school or university • 6 years of progressively responsible professional public library experience required • 4 years of administrative level budget planning and capital project fund management responsibility required • 4 years library management experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Director of Libraries
McKinney Public Library System, McKinney, TX
The Director of Libraries reports directly to the ACM and is a member of the City’s Management Team. The McKinney Public Library System has a staff of 40 and an annual FY2014-2015 operating budget of $3,363,685.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited college or university required. Minimum of 7 years of previous experience in library services, including supervisory and management work. Municipal experience in a similar sized or larger community desired.
